CONGRATULATIONS:

Sean Alexander Bart received the 2016 National Youth Arts Award for Outstanding Musical Direction.

Allegra Chapman is both Artistic Director and Executive Director of the Bard Music West Festival.

Tanya Gabrielian’s  new CD of Bach transcriptions, “Remix”, was named CD of the week by both KDFC and KUSC.  Tanya was named 2017 Artist-In-Residence for the Guild Hall in East Hampton, NY

Fantee Jones completed her Master’s degree from The Juilliard School this past spring, and is currently a student at the Yale School of Music, majoring in Piano Performance.  This past summer, she presented a sold out solo recital at the National Theater and Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan

Rieko Tsuchida was named a 2016 Grant Winner by the Charlotte White Salon de Virtuosi in New York City.  She received a B.M degree from the Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins University and is attending graduate school at The Juilliard School.

Amanda was a post-doctoral research scholar at the University of Washington after completing her Ph.D in clinical psychology.

Christopher Brody Ph.D Yale University; DMA, MA University of Minnesota; BA Northwestern University

Christopher was  Assistant Professor of Music Theory at the Eastman School of Music.  Chris came to Eastman from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University where he was a post-doctoral resident scholar and visiting Assistant Professor of Music Theory.  He received his Ph.D from Yale University in Music Theory and a DMA degree in Piano Performance from University of Minnesota.

Clint Cancio BM Notre Dame de Namur University

Clint was a vocal coach at Notre Dame de Namur University.  He recently wrote a book for young children that engages their love of music, and is writing a novel on the life of Lili Boulanger.

Lauded by the Washington Post for her “strikingly poised nobility”, Tanya has performed at the International Beethoven Project in Chicago and at the Washington International Piano Festival.  She is a member of the Piano Faculty at Boston University.

Alex Gelber Ph.D, BA Harvard University

Student from 1994-98. Alex is Assistant Professor at the UC Berkeley Goldman School of Public Policy and a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.  He taught at both Harvard and the Wharton School of Business.

Jake Holtzman BS Oberlin College Conservatory

From San Rafael, Jake has performed throughout the United States,  with recent engagements at the Steinway Piano Gallery in San Francisco, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Kalamazoo Epic Center,  and Avram Teater (SouthHampton).  He graduated from Oberlin College/Conservatory with a major in piano and environmental science and currently attends New York University as a graduate student in piano performance.

Hilda Huang BS Yale University

At age 18, Hilda was the youngest competitor,  the first American, and first person of Chinese Ancestry to receive the top award in the 2014 International Bach Competition Leipzig.  She is the only pianist to have won the Leipzig, Wurzburg International Bach Competition and Rosalyn Tureck International Bach Competitions.  Hilda graduated from Yale College with a  major in Chemistry and is now a graduate student at the Yale School of Music.

Jacques Hymans Ph.D, MA, BA Harvard University

Jacques is Associate Professor in the School of International Relations at the University of Southern California.  His research focuses on international security affairs and national identity.

Christopher is Assistant Professor of Economics at Provincetown College in Rhode Island

Fantee was the gold medalist at the 2011 Seattle International Piano Competition and a prize winner at the 2012 Gina Bacchauer International Young Artist Competition.  She recently completed her Master of Music degree at The Juilliard School and is a now a student in the Graduate Program at Yale University School of Music.

Sean is announcer for Classical KING-FM in Seattle 98.1 and host of NW Focus LIVE.  His international award winning works have been performed by choirs and orchestras on both sides of the Atlantic, including London’s BBC Symphony.

Jeremie Michael MM, BM Eastern Kentucky University; The Juilliard School

Jeremie made his recital debut at the Concertgebeow in Amsterdam at age 14 and his concerto debut with the San Francisco Symphony at age 16.  Jeremie joined the original production of “The Fantasticks” at age 17, the youngest musical director On or Off Broadway at the time.  He is received a second Master’s Degree in Music Theory from Florida State University.

Xiaomang, who is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, currently practices medicine in Philadelphia with a specialization in gynecologic oncology.

Kenric made his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Walt Disney Hall in 2006. He is currently enrolled at Stanford School of Medicine after having completed the duel degree program at Harvard University and New England Conservatory of Music.

Mayumi Tsuchida, BM, BS Bard College-Conservatory

Mayumi was named winner of the 2016 Mannes School of Music Concerto Competition, and  attends the Mannes School of Music as a graduate student in piano performance.  Mayumi participated in both the EuroArts Festival and the Holland Sessions, and was named outstanding pianist at the Spainexcellence Festival in Avila, Spain.  She graduated from Bard College Conservatory in piano and Chinese.

Rieko Tsuchida BM Peabody Institute of Music

Rieko has performed at the Oxford Philomusica Piano Festival in Oxford, England, at the Musicfest Perugia in Perugia, Italy, and has presented recitals at the Philips Gallery in Washington DC, at the International Piano Festival “Rising Stars Series” at Texas State University and locally on the Noontime Concert series at Old Saint Mary’s Church in San Francisco.  She graduated as a piano major from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University and is a student at The Juilliard School
